EPA regional offices and ORD laboratories are alpha testing a promising new GIS graphic interface - the Analytical Tools Interface for Landscape Assessments (ATtILA) - which calculates many common landscape indicators (i.e., quantitative measurements of landscape conditions). Alpha testing of ATtILA, developed by NERL landscape ecologists, Region 4, and the TVA, is expected to augment ATtILA's robustness and flexibility as a landscape-level assessment tool. ATtILA accepts data from most common sources and allows end users with or without technical expertise to apply it to any landscape indicator of interest. The Consortium has obtained a copy of ATtILA for testing and application to the American Heritage River Watershed. This research is supported by EPA and USDA Rural GIS (RGIS). Follow this link for more information about ATtILA. |
