Planning is underway for GIS Day 2013! PAgis and our partners will once again be hosting the premier GIS Day event for Central Arkansas on November 20, 2013.  The venue has changed to the Wyndham Hotel meeting rooms in North Little Rock.  The event will feature partner exhibit booths, technical presentations, networking, food, fun and door prizes.  Anyone interested in learning more about GIS, GPS and the associated data and applications is encouraged to attend the event at no cost!  The theme for this year is “Mapping the Past to the Present”.  Technical presentations will focus on a wide variety of topics including Entergy’s outage management system, Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department’s new iDrive mobile application (utilizing Google’s Map Engine) as well as the University of Arkansas’s research on mapping dinosaur tracks.  The Arkansas Geographic Information Office will present on their current projects as well as one of the staff’s experience with how GIS has been used in the war in the Middle East.
